Big Ben is a second generation refugee who was born and raised in North London. Already a budding poet at age 9, by 11 Big Ben was writing his own verses and making songs with his friends Supar Novar and DRC. It was at this time they formed the still existing super group Flip tha Skript.

At school, Big Ben developed his craft, getting a name for himself in various groups including C4C (featuring Akala and Dj Brass Foot). Still making music with Flip tha Skript, Big Ben and fellow members began making cassette tapes – one tape got to UK Hip Hop veteran SkinnyMan who regularly invited Big Ben and Supar Novar to open for his shows and spit on radio. At this time Big Ben was still building his name and continued to work with Flip tha Skript and featured on Foreign Beggars first album “Asylum Speakers” in 2003 on a song called “Getaway”.

Unfortunately shortly after this Big Ben was sent to prison. In 2006, after years of writing and honing his craft, he was released from HMP and returned to the ends with a new hunger. Jumping straight back in to the game by performing at Glastonbury 2007, TDK Cross Central 2007, Tottenham Carnival 2008, Lounge On The Farm 2008 and opening for Big American acts such as Ghostface Killah, The Clipse, M.O.P, DJ Premier, The Licks, Sway, L.Man, the Mitchell Brothers and Rahzel.

Since returning Big Ben has featured on numerous mixtapes and songs including work on SuparNovar’s album “From The Beginning”, Wordsmith’s album “In The Pursuit Of Harmony”, the UK runnings mixtape series, as well as collaborations with Ndubz, Yaeo, Sir B and others. Doing it all independently after pushing and non stop blagging, Big Ben was finally able to produce his first solo Mixtape “Good Food Rap” which is available now.
